New Album: When I’m Called
News! Hey y’all, I’ve got a new record coming out. It’s titled “When I’m Called” and it will be available July 12 on Fat Possum Records. You can preorder the album here. It features nine songs - some of them traditional & some not so traditional. One of the more traditional songs is called “Going to Georgia” and you can hear it now at the listening places. Enjoy !
Okay now here is what I can tell you about this thing. “When I’m Called” was produced by James Elkington, who plays piano & a number of other instruments on it & also came up with its string & horn arrangements. This album features the fine musicianship of Ben Whiteley (bass), Joe Westerlund (drums), Robin Holcomb (singing), Blake Mills (guitar), Joan Shelley (singing), Jean Wood (strings), Anna Jacobson (brass), & Hunter Diamond (woodwinds). It was recorded by Jason Richmond, mixed by Tucker Martine, & mastered by Josh Bonati.
Kevin McNamee-Tweed provided the line drawing for the cover, Julienne Alexander rendered the lettering & designed the front cover, & Max Taeuschel did package layout & design.
